We cater for children who are ambulant but have restricted movement. Our Fairfooty rules mean ALL players can play competitively and fairly with lots of touches (see also Fairfooty page).

12th December the worst wettest day ever and we still put in a good showing!!

27 April 2014 Trafford Powerleague

Great day: loads of youngsters!

Sat Feb 15 GMex Manchester

11-1pm in The Cage..was a great success as we managed to get our message out there!

Your support at these events is crucial if you want to give your child the chance to play fair football and whilst it may involve travelling, we are trying to arrange more regionally based events.

Fabulous turnout (33) at our first event on Jan 12th 2014 and great success. We now have the momentum and contacts to get this going so please watch this space. Photos to follow along with details of our next event which will possibly be at the GMex Manchester Sat in mid Feb.

More future events will now be held at:

LUCOZADE POWERLEAGUE MULTI-PITCH INDOOR CENTRE, TRAFFORD
Trafford Way, Trafford Park
Manchester M17 8DD

Cost per child - 5

+ We are now looking to arrange these events in other regions so let us know where you want them! You can also follow me on Twitter - steve@calmsoccer.com for news of our next event. Andy can be followed on Facebook re Yorkshire CPFC also.

Thankyous!

Many thanks to all parents/relatives who donated towards the raffle, as we covered event costs with a little cash to spare which will go towards our next event.

Thanks also to James Holland of 'David Roberts Physio' for his help coaching and their donations to the event.

Thank you also to Dave Beswick from 'Mann Island Finance' who was so impressed he has already pledged 140 towards the next event - April 27 again in Manchester!

**Whilst the vast majority of our children do have some form of Cerebral Palsy - please don't be put off by this fact! The basic criterion is that your child 'is' ambulant, but has restricted movement - we have amputees, children suffering genetic disorders (i.e. dwarfism) etc so that more children get opportunities for fair footy! Walking aids like splints, frames, sticks and crutches are commonplace at our events, our children sometimes even play in goals on their knees (my son does!).

13th Jan 2014 Hi Steve , My 7 year old boy Aidan has mild spastic diplegia and attended the CP football event yesterday at power league in Trafford. We live in Manchester (urmston) and Aidan would be interested in playing more regularly if there were any possibility of this? It was amazing yesterday to see him tackling and actually getting the ball - something he struggles with at school for example. It really gave him a boost so if there were any regular sessions then please give me a shout! Thanks Joanna

Hi Joanna no problem , that's what we're now trying to achieve so will let you know all updates. Just keep your eye on my website also. Lastly, great to hear he really enjoyed it. Thanks Steve

Want an idea of what we do?

www.Calmsoccer.com is now in partnership with www.CPfootball.co.uk/Yorkshirecpfc.co.uk/Hemichat.org and kindly sponsored by Pannones Sols (Manchester).

Manchester FA are also supporting these events.

Please register on the 'REGISTER' page if you are interested in attending our Disability Football events and you will be sent details of our next event.

If you don't know yet if you can come to these, you 'can' just turn up on the day - but we will ask you to fill a form in then. Preferably, letting us know as early as you can by registering your intent will help us plan in advance.

The 'only' stipulations are that you have to be aged between 3-16 yrs old and have a physical disability that prevents you from getting around the pitch as per an able-bodied child (see below ** re children who are blind/need to use wheelchairs to play).

This is for children who are ambulant (i.e. they can walk unaided OR aided (with splints/walking sticks/walking frames that are open-fronted)...however, we 'do' sometimes have children who are happy to go in goal on their knees/bottoms so if this is the case (like my son) then go for it!! Just to outline the 'type' of children we have playing - there are some who have 'mild' restrictions (maybe one arm/leg) which may affect their agility and speed, or there may be children with more severe limitations which make running very difficult. Children with walking frames are an example of this, BUT ALL children are catered for in different games suited to ability. This is what has made these events such a success in the past, as, through experience, we try to give everyone a fair chance.

If you have ANY questions re eligibility - please contact me at

STEVE at (@)CALMSOCCER.COM

**Please also email me if you want a poster to put up/distribute**

**Please also note - we cannot accommodate children who use manually/electric powered wheelchairs on the pitch, or those who are blind, due to safety implications - if you are a wheelchair user/blind child who cannot fit into this category, please contact us and we will try to help you with contacts for this category as there are many others available.

Following on from the many CP Sport events that have been taking place all over the country, we are now aiming to develop this more regionally and get higher numbers of children playing 'REGULAR' football.

'IF' YOU ARE HAPPY TO TRAVEL - WE WANT YOU TO COME.

I TRAVELLED TO LONDON TO GET LEWIS PLAYING FOOTBALL AND WE HOPE THIS WILL BE AN EXCITING EVENT FOR MANY CHILDREN
